Our christian confidence can be robbed by the cultural narrative of karma – you get what you deserve, but the gospel strips us of any delusions that we can be good enough to deserve anything but hell. Thankfully, in Jesus, we have a high priest whose offering on our behalf has already been accepted by God. We no longer get what we deserve, we get what Jesus deserves.
