Watch as Ray David unpacks Romans 2:1-5, and shows us the abounding grace of the Gospel.
If you asked a non-religious person what was the one main characteristic of a christian person what would they say? Sadly, many of them would say that Christians are judgmental. It is a tragedy that a people who believe in God’s grace can be so ungracious and hard-hearted. But a true understanding of the Gospel is the cure to a hard heart.
On the cross, the wrath and judgment of God is swallowed up in His mercy and kindness.
God’s grace makes us gracious. His grace gives us no room for standing over others.
Any goodness in our self or in our life is not grounds for standing over others in pride, instead it should motivate us to humble thanksgiving. All is grace. All is gift.
All of your sin has already been judged in the body of Jesus, so now God’s looks at you and declares you righteous. God swallowed up your just judgment in Himself on the cross. This incredible kindness of God softens our hearts and leads us to a place of repentance – where we no longer judge others, but where we instead show God’s kindness to the people in our lives.
