This is a story about Blair Kitchen and Joe Biggar, but it is mainly a story about Jesus. Blair has a liver disease, which has plagued him for years. He has been hospitalized numerous times and his condition deteriorated to the place where he needed a new liver. Blair has a lovely wife and 3 young children. Joe is his friend. On October 17th of this year Joe donated 70% of his liver to Blair to help his friend live. There was a significant chance of complications, but thanks be to God, the surgeries were successful. They are both now on the long road of recovery.
For those of us who have witnessed these events, we have been humbled and we have been shown a real-life picture of Jesus. Joe laid down his life for Blair, because Jesus laid down His life for Joe. Below we have compiled the articles that we posted around the time of the surgeries, as well as the audio of Blair and Joe talking about their story. We pray that you see Jesus through the lives of these courageous men. We ask that you share this story widely and let the world see – not these two men’s courage, but the love of Christ that gave them their courage.
