On Sunday, May 26th, we are going to have a Profession of Faith Sunday at St. George’s! In 1 Timothy 6:12, the Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to “take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” In the same way, young Christians throughout the history of the church have been encouraged to make a profession of faith, with their church community as witnesses, as a public declaration that they look to Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and will trust and follow him with their lives.
If you were baptized as child, and have never made a public profession of your faith as an adult, prayerfully consider if the Lord is calling you to take part on Sunday, May 26th. Not only will it encourage and strengthen your church family to hear you declare your faith in Christ, you might also just find that it will be a watershed moment in your walk with Christ, as you “take hold of the eternal life to which you were called”.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
Please contact the church office if you’d like to participate in the profession of faith on Sunday, May 26th.
