In recent months, there seems to be an increasing number of accounts of unexpected bereavement and sickness in our congregation. RD spoke of it at our AGM. Such times place a heavy physical, emotional and spiritual burden on our congregation. Scripture teaches us that an appropriate response at such times is prayer and fasting. We are calling a day of Prayer and Fasting on Friday March 6th. We plan to hold a prayer service that evening from 7-8pm to concluded the day.
Why Fasting?
“Prayer is reaching out after the unseen; fasting is letting go of all that is seen and temporal. Fasting helps express, deepen, confirm the resolution that we are ready to sacrifice anything, even ourselves to attain what we seek for the kingdom of God.” – Andrew Murray
